After lunch today I went walking through the mist that had descended over the valley where I live. I was accompanied by my little black cat (no one had told him that he isn’t a dog!) I could just make out the silhouettes of a few trees and bushes immediately in front of me, all was silent except for the birds who happily cheeped away despite the cold and damp. There was a palatable stillness all around that seemed to seep into my body, calming me down. Winter is the season of slowing down and looking within. I think hibernating animals are defiantly onto a good thing! If you would like to join me for yoga classes next week we are taking the slow into our yoga practice, as we bring the body back to life after the festive season, and nurture ourselves if we have been suffering from a seasonal cold.
